Portal System of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SAIF)

This project represents an important milestone in the activities of the SAIF acting as an accredited payment agency of the Czech Republic to facilitate the provision of financial support from the European Union and national sources within the implementation of grant schemes included in the framework of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy.

Since individual grant schemes are conditioned by performance of specific agricultural activities within individual so-called measures linked to specific crops grown by individual farmers, and given the number of grant applications, which exceeds 30,000 annually, the SAIF had to reassess its oversight methods serving to evaluate compliance by farmers with the requirements. AMS is based on the evaluation of remote sensing data, primarily data from Sentinel 1 and 2 satellites. Through an analysis of the data, AMS can determine whether the required agricultural activities have taken place on the land and whether the conditions for granting subsidies have been met. AMS is capable of recognizing agricultural crops, cultivated plants, performance of mowing or grazing, and prohibited operations.

Asseco has implemented a front-end application within this program – AMS Portal – to present data to both SAIF employees and farmers.
