Asseco Central Europe achieves sales of EUR 310.2 million in 2019
Bratislava, 8 June 2020: International software company Asseco CE has recorded an extremely successful year in 2019. It increased its revenues by 9% year-on-year to EUR 310.2 million. Asseco always taxes its profits in the country in which it operates. Thus, in Slovakia, it paid a total of EUR 31.2 million in tax, VAT, social and health contributions to the state treasury. The remuneration for work amounted to EUR 30.2 million.
Asseco's positive financial results have been achieved over the long term mainly due to the company's core business, which is the development of information systems for the banking and insurance sectors. It was banking and insurance that gave birth to the company 30 years ago and brought Asseco hundreds of satisfied customers. The Group's sales in this segment have been growing steadily and increased by 14% compared to 2018. Another key growth area of the company is General Business (ERP) with annual sales of EUR 142.7 million. Also noteworthy was the 11% revenue growth in Industry 4.0 & Utilities. The company's results were positive primarily due to organic revenue growth. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) thus increased by 22% year-on-year to the final amount of EUR 46 million. In 2019, Asseco Central Europe employed more than 3,000 people.
"The year 2019 brought us a number of successfully implemented projects and satisfied clients. The changing present means new challenges for us and requires new solutions and ideas. We know that the events of recent months will lead to the inevitable need to digitize processes and services, and this is our company's field of expertise. Our broad international portfolio, experience, and highly skilled colleagues make Asseco ready for current and future challenges the company will face and our people are able to overcome even this crisis period " said Jozef Klein, CEO of Asseco Central Europe.
In 2019, the company also marked 15 years since the formation of the international Asseco Group, of which Asseco Central Europe is an important part. The 15 years of successful existence have confirmed the correctness of the decision made in the past to merge two local companies from Poland and Slovakia. Today, Asseco continues to be one of the largest software companies in Europe, with offices in more than 56 countries, and employs nearly 27,000 people worldwide.
