First project of the Government´s information system migration to government cloud

Bratislava, 24 February 2022: Asseco has again supported its partners in innovating. For our client, the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic, we have successfully completed migration of its audit information system to the government cloud. For Slovakia, this has been the first project that “moved” an existing system onto a cloud-based computing platform of the state administration.

The Supreme Audit Office of the SR (SAO SR) is the first public institution that has fully moved its main information system - AIS, which has been in use for more than ten years, to the government cloud. This step has not only increased its security but also accessibility of the system and has brought savings as concerns the public funds required for the system operation. The project financed from the Operational Programme Integrated Infrastructure (OPII) was finalised in the presence of Karol Mitrík, SAO president, Ľubomír Andrassy, SAO vice-president, and Jozef Klein, chairman of the Board of Directors of Asseco Central Europe, a.s.

“The last two years marked with the fight of the entire society against the pandemic have shown how important it is for an institution to work with modern information technologies and make use of protected systems. The funds provided by the EU enabled us to move to a higher level, create even better conditions for auditors, and achieve savings as concerns further hardware investments that otherwise would inevitably become necessary soon,” Karol Mitrík emphasized.

The Audit Information System (AIS) serves every day for audits planning and implementation, approval processes, registration, and education and as the main document database.

“The professional and consistent management of the project on both sides enabled us to complete successfully this implementation and resolve the obstacles occurring mainly within the integration with third parties. We are happy that such an important and key government authority – the Supreme Auditing Office – successfully completed this project in cooperation with Asseco in time and at the required level of quality,” J. The planned migration of the AIS, a state administration information system of the Supreme Audit Office of the SR, to the government cloud was implemented in compliance with the Government´s strategy aimed at migration and centralized operation of state administration information systems.
